Regional Executive News
As I sit down to write this, I am looking out over my snow covered lawn. I then recalled that an additional two inches of snow has been forecast for lower Michigan. For me, this first snow is a reminder that the Corvette season in Michigan is nearly over and we should be planning to prepare our cars for some winter storage. As I look back, there was a lot of uncertainty at the beginning of the year due to the Covid-19. But, as the year progressed, things turned out better than some may have expected.
Moving on, I would like to thank our retiring RCD, Dave Waters, for his years of service to the Michigan Region of the NCCC. Dave has helped many people, including myself, with learning about, facilitating, scoring, and completing a great number of competition events. Dave had always made himself available to us when the need arose. We will continue to see Dave as the VP of Competition of the Irish Hills Corvette Club and at the events that he either organizes or attends. Again, thank you Dave for all that you have done for the Michigan Region.
Also leaving the NCCC Michigan Region board is Sue Sweet. Sue has been our Regional Points Director for several years and has been instrumental in keeping track of the regional competition point standings. Sue has also been responsible for designing, obtaining, and distributing our regional awards. I would like to thank Sue for her much appreciated service with this thankless and often difficult job.
I would also like to thank our returning NCCC Michigan Region Board members and directors that have worked so hard to keep the Michigan Region running. Joe Scafero is our returning Regional Membership Director (RMD) and he continues to help all of our Governors get their jobs done correctly and on time. Edna Stoel is returning as the Regional Secretary and will continue supporting the RE along with providing much of our needed documentation. Kathy Duncan is our returning Regional Treasurer and works hard to keep our books balanced. Gloria Reiffer is our returning Webmaster and has done a great job with updating our website and helping the board with setting up email accounts specific to our positions. I know that there is much more that each of these individuals contribute to the organization and they all deserve a sincere thank you.
Finally, I would like to welcome Rene Cardenas as our incoming Regional Competition Director (RCD) and Kyle Felts as both our new Regional Points Director and as our Electronic Meeting Facilitator. I would like to welcome both Rene and Kyle to our regional board and to thank them both for taking on their respective duties.
In closing, I would like to wish everyone a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year.
In closing, I hope everyone is having a good time with the events that are being held.
